question on hydraulics

Can someone explain 'open center series\parallel curcuit' for wheel motors?



I think I have the basic idea but not sure what is need for directional valves and how to run the lines.

in the series\parallel would the wheel motors lock when the valve is in neutral or free wheel?



I have 4 wheel motors to drive on an articulated frame could I use a single valve to run all the motors?
