Another thing is the price of the Mopar cross over line !

I was quoted $240. 00..... yikes, but my cost would be $200. 00..... still a yikes !

Those prices are for prices in Canada. I wonder if its much cheaper in the US ?



Should I scrap the whole idea of installing a trans temp gauge ??????????

Bill is one of the most knowledgable people on the 47RE transmission and he says in the output line and will sell you the line with a braided extension for a lot less that your quotes. SNOKING

The cross over line should be around $100 US. Check will Bill, maybe the price has went up. I thin the racing company in spokane, washington that modifies your old one or sell the tee kit.

I called there the other day, I'am pretty sure it wasn't Bill that I was talking to. I told who ever it was that I didn't want to buy the $200. 00 line from mopar and asked them what they use and if I purchase from them. He said they use the mopar c/o line. I got the impression that he wanted me off the phone as he had better things to do.



This is all getting to be a pain in the rear end !



I feel like putting the gauge on ebay and be done with it !

I paid just under $100 at my local dealer. I'll have to look up the part number, but it has been poted elsewhere. The factory line comes with a rubber line from the steel line to the trans cooler. I believe that DTT only supplies the stainless braided line that replaces teh rubber line. I could be wrong about that one.



Also, try looking online with just the part number. The part is available for about $100.

Guys, I have to agree that a factory type line would be nice... and certainly dependable. However, I have 120-130k miles on my gauge with a "T" and compression fittings and have not had a problem... and I drive daily on ROUGH roads!!! You don't have to buy the best and most expensive to have dependability! Just be careful how you do the job!

http://www.jannettyracing.com/ Has a sender pod that you can install in the line. I had one installed on the vertical line going up to the cooler. It was around 45 bucks, and I had to buy a mini tube cutter. THEN, Bill replaced it with the DC line when he did my transmission. I think the sender pod is better than just T'ing into the line. Tell Bill to look in the scrape pile and give you my pod. Or the pod and line already cut. SNOKING

I might even call a Dodge dealer in Washington and see if I can get that crossover line sent up here. I will also check into jannetty racing and that sender pod that they sell.



The problem of living on southern Vancouver Island is that I'am so limited to this kind of stuff and Diesel upgrades in general. You would think with half a million plus people living on the bottom half of the island, that there would be way more choices as far as products and services.

Have you noticed that MErickson1 and I both live outside the United States? We can find boat loads of companies that sell parts in the States! The problem is getting them when you DO NOT live in the States!!!

I have to say there is probably a reasonable amount of Diesel specialty shops in Canada. It's living on the west coast and being on Vancouver Island that makes it tough. Its seems everyone wants to move here for their retirement, so this area doesn't cater to the kind of guys on this board. :rolleyes:



Now that the Canadian dollar is almost even with the US dollar, some parts up here a still pretty pricey as a lot of retailers bought their stock when the Canadian dollar was almost worth only half of the US dollar. Now most of the time it's worth buying stuff out of the US. Having it shipped up and having to pay brokerage fees etc, is the reason some might just decide to buy north of the border.



Anyway..... I will check out that all chrysler.com



It sounds like I could save a hundred bucks !

It's $190. 00 north of the border.



Getting the custom install in the dash including gauge and cooler line. Its going to run $500. 00 - $600. 00..... Yikes !

What do you guys think of these temperature manifold adapters from Autometer ? (The gauge I have is Autometer ) !

Here's the line I bought. Part# 5011244AA. I found it online in Bremerton, WA for a few pennies over $100.

Some applications the check balls are removed all together. This usually requires running in Neutral for a minute or so on start up. Then, it's all good!

Do you replace the check valve that comes with the new line with an open fitting or can you drill out the check fitting?I just got it and installed it but now after reading about having one in the cooler I will probably just drill out the check fitting. What has anybody else done here?
 
After removing the new line the check valve is built in. so I removed the fitting from the cooler and just pulled the check out of it,no drilling required it just pops out. so the check in the new mopar line is still retained now transmission sender is in cooler line I will drive it tomorrow and see what difference it makes in readings.
