Well, I bought my exhaust from Bryan Howell on here he owns www.dieselpowerproducts.com he is a great guy and very knowledgeable and easy to deal with (good company to buy from). I recieved my exhaust quickly and I plan installing it tomorrow morning at the shop I work at. It is the five inch system turbo back from Diamond Eye. I was wondering, will my stock down pipe off the turbo work with this? On the turbo starting side of the exhaust it shrinks down to 4" do you think it will just bolt on. The truck is an 2004. 5 so it has a stock 4" exhaust. Sorry to be rude but I need quick responses because I am doing it tomorrow morning. thanks - Bobby

Go here for install instructions: http://www.diamondeyeperformance.com/instructions/K5238A.pdf

It looks to me like a direct bolt on system. Maybe not as clean as some of the other systems where the hangers are welded on. I always have issues with things that need adjusting as I will spend too much time trying to get it perfect.

From my experience, I would recommend you use band clamps (Donaldson is one supplier) instead of the u-bolts for the pipe joints as they dont crush the pipes.

When you reinstall the turbo to downpipe clamp, use LOTS of CRC 556 or WD-40 or you never get the clamp to grip to two flanges and pull them together.

My other experiences have been that if you HAVE to get it done tomorrow, you wont... but good luck. :-laf

Hope this helps,

Louis

BZieg,

One more thing I forgot to mention.

The Diamond Eye instructions say to loosen the original turbo to down pipe clamp and pry it off.

Don't pry it off! The pipe is connected to the turbo and the turbo has very exact tolerances. Simply loosen the clamp all the way and spray the heck out of it with 556 or WD-40 and gravity will make it come apart.

Hey thanks, yeah the whole exhaust was like $460 shipped to my door. I hope I can install in a day, and I also hope when I cut the old exhaust off I will not need it anymore. Thanks for the super-fast reply. -Bobby. I hope it all goes well.

I have the 5 inch diamond eye for my 06. Went smooth until the part where it does not fit properly with the Jacobs brake. Had to tweak 1 of the brackets to get it to sit right. Clearance for the 5 inch downpipe were pretty tight. Overall, if I didn't spend like 4 hours messing with it to fit with the Jacobs brake, i would say it should take about 3-4 hours. Make sure to use some lubrication to get those rubber hangers off... Personally like PB Blaster...
