I have an 03, about to put a kit on it and was wondering, Anyone running this injection your thoughts? Do's and Don'ts, General advice, any likes or dislikes, and I was told course after my purchase the meth will eat your Aluminum pistons up over time, What if lessser mix, hence more water than meth? Help

By "meth", what do you mean? Are you refering to methane? Methanol? Methyl Esters (biodiesel)? Or methanphetamine?

Gee, well I'm sure not talking about Methaphetamine, that would be one of those Snow Performance Water/Meth Injection kits being SPECIFIC for a diesel

Methanol. And I've never heard of it eating aluminum. That doesn't mean it's not true, I've just never heard it. What have you done to your motor to need the cooling?

Matt Snow lives nearby and has his shop in Woodland Park, Colo. I know him and he's very responsive to inquiries. I'd buy from him but I don't need the power he sells. However, I'd bet he be happy to talk to you and answer any questions.

thanks guys for the feed back, I was told that methanol being a caustic its aluminum this was from a trusted source but I've never heard anyone else sya this, but I really haven't talked to anyone who has ran this, I have 100 hp inj, TST PMCR, DD TTPM,DD Jammer Turbo,F. A. S. S. , ARP head studs, SBC clutch, was looking at that snows performance kit pretty hard, either that or Nitrous, one or the other, Just leary of the Gas of ran that in Drag cars over the years and it gets hard on things

Don't let the water/meth scare you! The corrosive nature is true if it were sitting in water, this is the reason they don't like to shoot it before the intercooler. I've been involved with water/meth for 3 years now and with Snow Performance since April of 02'.

You've never seen any problems Jim? Other than Arp studs any other good advice on using it and any added insurance I can do?

Why run one or the other? Why not run both if you are really looking for the power? You can even through Propane in thee if you want. Definately need to stud the head, but it is all sorts of good fun power and is pretty reliable. Granted you are taking bigger chances by running all of them, but hey if it is the power and big numbers you are after. . . Go big and enjoy!

The only time I really worry about it is when a 2nd gen guy is trying to get everything out of it and is running stacked boxes, losts of boost ect, or a 12V is running past 18 degrees of timing as this is getting into headgasket area. It seems to me that the 3rd gens don't have this issue, heck look what Piers is doing with a stock head gasket and no studs.

Studs are good insurance and if I had one of these trucks I would install a set.

The main thing I see with the Snow System is most people don't try to get everything out of it, they just throw it on and if it works good then it's good, if not they come on here and complain about only making 30 hp extra.

If your only making that hp gain then chances are the problem is with you, maybe it's because I'm a 12V guy and will tune a truck for everything.

Turn the pump wide open for pressure and have it full on by 30 psi with a 50/50 mix... ... . real 50/50, not some store bought washer fluid. If you can't find methanol then buy the Boost Juice from Matt. If your running the pump at max pressure and it makes the motor bang a little(blowing the fire out) then back the pump off a little or re-check when it comes on to full pressure, if it runs ok at full pressure... ... leave it there.
