I thought the auto's always had a HY35..... I was helping a friend change his oil today. His has the HX35W... with the 47re, from the factory. He bought this truck new. It's completely stock. Never had anything done at the dealer or elsewhere.

Is it part of the towing package??

Just wondering... ...

ToM!

On edit: it's a 2000 4X4

What year is the truck? They ran them in 98, 99, and some 00 on the 24 valve trucks. I had a hx35 on mine and it's a 99. They Did it for emissions and quicker spool up when they went to the hy35 9 housing in late 00 , 01 for the autos thats all.

Yup, my 99 auto has the HX35. Some thought I had the HY35 and were suggesting I switch. Checked with DOC he says, "you already got it. " With no more than I got going on he's hesitant to go the 40. I think there's more tuning to what I already have.
