The map and dome lights come on like they should, but no glow from the ring.

When (if?;)) I get ambitious I'll crawl under the dash with a test light and see if the plug is getting any juice. I've gotten pretty good at finding the keyhole by Braille, so cramming myself up there isn't a priority right now. ;)

I'd just like to know what plug and were it hooks up before I go into the guts of the steering column and it's wiring... . did I ever mention I truly SUCK at electrics..... ya, I think I did..... and I'm not kidding either.

If anyone comes up with the info I need please post it. That way I'll know what to remove, what to look for and what to hook up.

Thanks guys..... :D:D

pastor bob...

I dont know about the bulb but the relay is under the dash behind the fuse panel, on the side of the wire bundle that goes into the fuse panel, I removed the fuse panel cover (directly under the steering column) when I was looking for the relay but it was probably unnecessary. I'll go check the terminals out with my meter and post the results. John

Ok I went out to the parking lot with a flashlight and a meterand here are the results using the relay picture I posted above the top terminal is ground, the left terminal is the switched 12 Volt, and the terminal on the right is 12 Volts. If the relay is gone the terminal on the right will be 12 Volts When the door is open, I checked the switched spade by reinstalling the relay and then checking the switched terminal to ground.

PB you do not have to take anything apart to chek this out, all I had was my multimeter and a flashlight. :)

BOB-Bob-bob, All this has not answered your question... . The wiring diagrams in the '91 FSM are not to clear to me--- If you need them or they will help you, I'll e-mail them to you. This thread has helped me though..... Thanks a bunch. .

TTT... ... . well, I'm really not sure if I have an answer here or not..... no offense but did I mention I REALLY SUCK at electric stuff... ;):D

So, as for the relay, is this the item I really need to go after or is there an actual male/female connector in there somewere that DC just leaves unhooked, or, hides till you pony up the extra $$ to have this luxury item???

(>>Insert Pb scratching his head here..... <<)

There is actualy a relay that hooks to the female connector under the dash, mine is pictured above in one of my previous posts, I do not know if this was standard on our non LE model trucks but I do know that mine did not have it when I bought it used in 93, it had 16000 miles on it at that time. My buddy bought an LE in 93 and his glow ring worked, so i went to my local Chrysler dealer and they looked up the relay and ordered it for me, it was 12. 50 at the time.

Did anyone figure this out. I took mine apart and I have all the stuff for the light, but it doesnt work. I dont know if I have the relay though. I will have to check it out. Any updates Pastor? Did you get yours to work.
