i got mine today. bosch. $25. it does not have the screw in the top. is this right? it has what appears to be a little ball in the top. looks like a place to catch dirt?

any comments before i fire the beast up?

also,

after removing the old one, i took the needle screw out of the top and the spring and a little top hat came falling out. anything else inside there?

thanks.

scott.

does the new overflow valve not have a screw in the top? just the steel ball showing? kind of a bad place for dirt to build up?

The ball I'm talking about is a larger one inside the valve.

I'm not sure what the function of that steel ball on top is. New valves from Cummins are also one piece, guess they didn't like folks stretching springs.

how about that price !!

i would say that if you have not changed out your overflow valve, you should buy one NOW at the price of $25.
