Ready to bolt it on Sunday. So I could use a quick response.

When I put shop air pressure to the actuator, it only moves the wastegate rod maybe a ¼".

Lengthening the actuator rod does nothing.

40psi-50psi-60psi same result.

It's along way from hitting stop. Or in other words wide open wastegate.

Is the normal, or could the actuator be bad.

Hello Bill,

What you should be concerned about is Not how far it travels but how much pressure it takes to lift it off the seat, this is where your boost pressure comes from.

The wastegate remains shut until you reach preset boost level for example 30 psi of pressure to lift the wastegate valve off the seat, once at 30 PSI the valve will float in the open position until you lift your foot off the accelerator then it will snap shut again.

Shorter rod Means More Preload or Boost level and a longer rod means less preload or less boost.

Ted.
