Question: PSD Upgrades

A buddy of mine has a 97 PSD 4x4 5spd reg cab that he has had since brand new and still stock. He mentioned he wanted to do something to give it more power, maybe some Banks add ons, etc. I don't know a whole lot about what is available for the PSD.



This truck is a straight up farm truck, always got something hooked up to it, always dragging something behind it, always got something weighing more than it should in the bed.



Any suggestions I can pass along to him for this type of use?

Call the guys as Diesel Horsepower Products. They're next county over and drive hot PSD's. Allen's is extra hot, he's trying to figure out how to twin it.

Here is what I would do.

Ton's of PSD's around here. No one wants gauges, no one wants to void their warranty. I have been putting on Superchips tuners, and Edge EZ's for the Ford. Both plug and play, and so far lots of smiles and no gripes. All these guys tow and use their trucks.

Have him call Quadzilla Performance @ 817 306 2444. They are a chip seller for PSDs and they do their own programming that gets excellent results. Quad is gonna came out with a 5 position in-car, on-the-fly adjustable chip for the PSD getting near the functionality of a Edge Comp but w/o the smoke settings. Should be a few weeks.



They also sell several Dodge and Duramax boxes.

Thanks for the info. I think I will give my buddy the address to this site and have him check out some of the websites you all mentioned, and shoot out a couple of emails as well.



Perhaps his best fix will be to read some of the CTD forums and and buy a Cummins instead

Tell him to go there , it is a great site and even free. There are a few things he can do really cheap that can make a noticeable differnece.
