I need some help!!! Is there any special process used to remove the connecting rod pin in the piston? Also what is the torque for the connecting rod bolts.

There shouldnt be any 'special' process for removing the pin. You should have to take out 1 snap ring, and the pin should slide out easily. If it doesnt then something is probably out of whack. All of that is assuming that there is nothing wrong with the piston of coarse. I just took a 94 apart with 300k on it and all the pins pushed right out with my fingers.

As far as the torque I cant tell you right off hand, maybe someone with a Shop manual in their lap may.

Russell.

Connecting Rod Torque:

Lurbricate bolts with engine oil.

Step 1 (Both bolts)30NM/22 ft lbs.

Step 2 (Both bolts)60NM/44 ft lbs.

Step 3 Rotate each bolt clockwise 60 degrees.

Did you check your big ends for size? I checked my lower mile '97 rods and the big ends were out of round, had them resized and new bushings put in the pin end and checked for twist and stretch. Now they are better then any set that ever came from the factory. If your doing a rebuild you might as well do it all. Have fun finding a shop though that can do the big ends;)
