Questions about 275 HP injectors

Hey all. . I'm considering 275 HP Injectors but I have some questions for you guys that already have them:

1. ) Did you have to get the ECM reprogramed to match them? If so, how much was that?

2. ) How much did you guys pay and do you think it was worth it?

3. ) How did the truck feel after you put in the new injectors?

4. ) Did your gas mileage increase/decrease with them in?

5. ) If I decide to get them, who do I need to talk to about a group purchase?

One last ?:
Do they void your 100,000 mi engine warranty?

Also: Does cummins put their warranty on it once you get them?

1. No - And it can only be done through DC.
2. $288. 00 and yes it is worth it.
3. More throttle response, better power range and stronger pulling.
4. 1/2mpg decrease for normal driving and 1mpg decrease towing.
5. I would contact Carl (WWCD) (Group Purchase GURU). I found mine locally before the GP was started.
6. Repeat after me "I am my own warranty station". I don't think you can do anything to a rig anymore and not void or piss off the Warranty Gods.

answer to do they void your warranty , that would be a big YES!!! and no cummins doesn't warranty them either , in fact they won't install them for you either , at least here in the northeast they wouldn't . when i talked to a service writer at cummins about a potential problem and about a test of the pump , when i said i had 275's in my truck , first thing out of his pie hole was " you realize you voided your engine warranty ?" .

Installed 275,s after 34,000 miles. I now have 37,000 miles two weeks later. I did extensive baseline checks both loaded and empty. Results, mileage went down from 17 empty to 15. 5 and from 11 loaded to 9. This is with no difference in driving habit and making the identical trips in both conditions. Power was measured by 0 to 60 and 40 to 60 times and by top speed loaded going up both sides of Vail pass and to the Eisenhower tunnel on I-70 through Colorado towing a 9000 pound boat trailer. Result, top speed went down by 3 mph.

seber , very interesting that you saw such decreases . do you have access to a snap on scanner or know a mechanic with one ? have someone preform the injector performance test , though i didn't presay notice a decrease in performance , i did notice an erratic idle , when i had this test done 2 cylinders sounded/acted differently than the rest , i removed the injectors and had them tested by the shop i got them thru and at low pressures , somewhat like an idle condition , they were marginal , i replaced them and all seems well . only other thought is your altitude makes a big difference , i do find it hard to belive that you got a performance decrease.

In my honest opinion, unless you have a "boost module thingey" any kind of bigger injectors wont do squat at high altitudes except make a bunch of smoke. I have been there and done that! I tow on those same passes regulary.
