Questions about my new 2005 Truck

I traded my 97 Dodge/Cummins last week for a 2005 and have a couple of questions. First, I can't find the "data" decal that tells size of engine, rear axle ratio, etc. In my old truck, it was under the engine hood and obvious when you lift the hood up. anyone know where it is on the new trucks? Also, I ordered a 3. 73 rear axle, but in all my literature that came with the truck, including the "window sticker" there is no mention of axle ratio, only that it is a 11 1/2" rear axle. What does that mean? Thanks for any information. Dan

look in the glove box for the axel/ratio sticker or get your dealer to run and print a build sheet which will give you all options and codes for them. The 11. 5 is the size of the ring and pinion gears.

The engine data on mine is on the valve cover on the right hand side as your looking at it. Hope this helps.

The 3. 73 are the standard gears, in the 2500 at least, the 4. 10 were the option. You'll find the drivetrain info in the glove compartment.

Also, your VIN number can give you a wealth of info. Take it to any dealer or ask for the codes to decipher it.
