Was curious if I am allowed to post a price for an item that I bought off a vendor?? After I read all that crap that Carl went through just wondering if there is a rule on this so I didnt rub anyone the wrong way. Just to let everyone know I got a set of 275 Bosch injectors for a 12v that I thought was an excellent price. If I get a ruling on this I will post who and how much THANKS

Hi Red Nut,

I`m not sure about the pricing question. I think you should have went with the 215 HP or the Diamond B series 370HP Injectors.

I was told the 12 Valve 275hp marine injectors don't work well in the Ram because
the spray angle is incorrect (too wide) and they will give a sag in
power in the torque region of 1500-1900 rpm.

I have never ran them, so I can`t say for sure. #ad

I hate excess smoke too Red Nut. Try the 275`s and see how they are. Who knows?

I have a set of 370`s. If they smoke too much I`ll put the 215`s back in.

As far as smoke with the 370 injectors are concerned. I would say that the stock injectors (215) smoke more with the same kind of responce I'm getting now. I had to run alot less AFC tension to get even close to the response I'm getting now. I have it adjusted now to where I get a small puff pre-boost and that's it.

Go for it Hemi you'll like it. They also seem to be getting better milage also although it too soon for this I still am running w/ my foot too far in it to be sure. LOL

HEMI Dart I will try the 275's and see . I have an automatic, do you think that matters as far as smoke compared to your manual??? I run a stock trans and after I put in my torque plate and 275's I thought 370 would be too much strain on trans Also on your propane system wher do you mount propane and can you use a tank like the kind on a bbq grill or do you need to fabricate a tank Just curious about change in fuel mileage also

RedNut,

I considered the 275's for my early '98 12V... I even had them in hand. Then I wrote Joe D. for guidance and he talked me out of it. I'm not looking to bomb big, but as I remember, he said stay with the 215s or move up to the 370s. He said the 275s "was a hole can of worms", or words to that effect.

Contact him first, IMHO.

Rednut,
I copied and pasted this from the forum guidelines. Hope this clears it up a little.

<quote>General Member Price Posting – In the third situation of members just posting prices you have seen or received, I think we have a bit more leeway. Here’s what we will try. If you are a third party who has found a good price, feel free to post it. In general, we all have the ability to seek out the best pricing for our situation, but if someone asks, you may certainly answer the pricing question. A better solution may be to just point the other members to the source of the good pricing, since prices can and do change and individual situations vary. BUT, don’t try to disguise marketing of a particular vendor or product behind this sort of posting. Also, don’t use these types of posts in an attempt to promote or do harm to a particular vendor. If the post becomes a marketing tool or if the posting of prices becomes excessive – in an attempt to harm vendors, then the posts will not be allowed. </quote>

I'm also looking a getting a set of 275's to start with. I'm not really wanting to go up to the 370 just yet.

I did`t think smoke would be much more of a problem with the 370`s. My present combo does not smoke much more than stock. I just get a puff of grey smoke when I stomp on it. As long as the boost is there at the upper rpm`s ,they should be ok. Low end I can adjust my AFC control. With my truck, I am gonna pray the off idle "stumble" is not too bad. You and Red Nut are lucky. You guys have the good pumps. #ad

RedNut, Get the AFC spring kit with your cam plate. This is a must for good smoke contol and responsiveness. An auto and a stick should be equal when controlling smoke. The 370`s and a torque plate would probably be too much for your trans. I`m not knowledgeable on auto trans mods. Many members are though.

I have a 20 lb DOT approved (BBQ) tank straped in the bed of the truck. I haven`t really checked the milage gains. Some days its on and other days its off. I`ve got 500+ miles out of this tank( propane) so far though. The big time fluctuating temps here really mess up the regulator setting on a vapor system like Bulldog`s. Tank pressure is about twice the air temp, no matter how full. Set the regulator at an air temp of 50 degrees( approx tank pressure 100 psi) and you are ok. Next day its 80 degrees out and your tank pressure is now 160. Turn on the system and it sounds like every connecting rod is coming out of the block #ad
Way too much gas now.
