Hey Guys,

First of all, I'm looking for information -- the truck isn't for sale (today)!! My wife and I are looking into the possibility of purchasing a new home. Depending on how much we want to invest in a home, I may consider selling my truck. :{ :{ :{

My problem is that I have NO IDEA how much to ask. The book value of the truck is $31,500, but then I have a few mods. Any suggestions on where to start coming up with an asking price? Again, I'm not hard up trying to get out of the payment, I'm just considering the sale to give us more money to shop for a new home.

Here is a list that contains most of my mods. The truck is probably a little over 500rwhp and between 1000 and 1100 torque. I'm going to try to get it on a dyno this week. Anyhow, let me know if you guys have an idea of how to put a value on it. Thanks!!!!

Well, from my experience, MOD's do not bring in extra money... ... Unless you find someone who is really dialed into those mods and can appreciate them. My son is going through this on his modded Civic. Most people, including myself, would not even consider a rig that has been modded. When I see a rig for sale that is modded, it tells me that this rig has been driven hard (taking advantage of all that power), it also tells me, that the warranty is now void or will be void if I have a problem down the road. Additionally, as a potential owner of a modded rig, I wouldn't know exactly what has been changed, the durability, reliability, etc, etc. I am sure there are plenty of people who will disagree with me on this and I am sure this is not the answer you wanted to hear. Good luck on your decision, at least real estate appreciates in value, unlike a car or truck.

I have to agree it will be a big hit selling your truck with all that you have put into it unless somebody is drooling over it :) I wish it were different... ..... I could have sold my 94 to pay for the 05 :-laf

I'm one who tends to think along the same lines as Tschwab. Ypu may find someone who is willing to give you exta money if your truck is their dream truck. But if I buy used, I want to find something bone stock and unmolested. My experience with alot of aftermarket installations is that few do it right, or at least to my satisfaction. And this is not often found until something fails and then its got to be repaired. At least when I've done the mods myself or had them done myself I know how and who did it.

That said, it is obvious that you have bought the best of everything and most likely spent quite a bit of $$$$, I think it would be tough to break even. I think I'd keep the truck as I'm guessing that you've built your dream truck.

I going through the same type of decision on my truck. I really need to unload the payment, but with my mods there is no way. I would probably have a hard time finding anyone willing to pay suggested book value for modded truck, muchless appreciate the money I have invested. I am probably looking at taking a $10,000 - $12,000 loss if I do decide it must go and maybe more.

Good luck, looks like somebody would get one hell of a truck. I really like the whole combination you have put together. Looks more like my previous 4x4s than mine does now.

generally, your best bet is to return the truck as close to stock as possible and sell the performance stuff seperately

That is what I will probably do if/when necessary. I have everything and can put everything back to stock except the TC/Trans. Probably leave the FASS and gauges, someone may appreciate those. Remove the TST/EZ, put stock turbo, downpipe and cat back in place. Put stock air box and filter back on.

Don't want to do it, just have to see how things work out over the next few months.

You can swap with another member for a solid & stock TC/Trans and get back a few $$$ out of the deal as well. The other member saves a few $ on a good TC/trans.

My advice, return it to stock and sell the stuff in the classifieds. That's the only way you'll come out on the deal.

First... very nice truck.

There's a saying in the car business... . "there's a butt for every seat".

You just gotta find a buyer who knows the value, both in cost and performance, of what you've done. I'd try to sell it the way it is. E-bay, and select aftermarket advertising sources. Try to recover 50-75% of the extra's still on the truck.

Just think of the time and stress associated with trying to sell of a garage floor of bumpers, Kore, wheels, boxes, turbo... . you get the idea. Then you've also got all the labor of reinstalling the stock parts, assuming you kept all of them. I'd rather take the $$ hit with it all still on the truck.

Man, I wish I had the money if you decided to sell it. I would buy that thing in a heart beat if I could. I miss that color, my old Ram was that color. Your truck has damn near everything I would want to toss on a 3rd gen and more.

Quick question, does it have the heated leather seats too?

Dsteinke,

If you decide to take off the mods and return to truck to stock, I'd love to have that Road Armor. Heck, I'd love to have the whole truck, but thats not possible right now.

Seriously though, PM me if you do decide to 'part' it out :D
