I have a few questions That I didnt want to start a thread on so Ill put them all together ... . dont laugh..... :)

Answered questions are in orange ... EDITING AS I GO

Feel free to ask your questions Also

the hard lined wated gate turbo on the 'o2 auto has a small housing dO they spool alot faster than the other ones (not sure witch is witch HY or HX??) I think mine is HY??

I get alot of boost RIGHT NOW I think thats why I only smoke at launch ... ... well that and not enough fuel when staying on it. How ever the fass decreases smoke that dont make sence???

Also the Air dog states 8% Fuel milage increase ... . now how can pumping more fuel to the motor increase fuel milage??

Why do people keep replaceing the lift pump over and over and not switch to a pusher??? some people have changed there lift pump 5 times.

Do I need the fuel heater if I bypass my factory filter???

is cold fuel bad or is it just to prevent geling????

Will the fass cause gelling... . Ive noted a few people with fass complaining about hard to start issues in any tempature??

Im getting 45+ PSi boost in about 1/100 of a second. NOTE ONLY ON 5x5 is that normal??

I wonder if Im getting in the danger range for the small turbo housing whats it rated at ??

If the Fp reading just what the lift pump is trying to push to the injector pump ? or is some of the pressure created by the VP44. Tapped @ Schrader

whats the pusher pump only Fp PSi readings??

Id like to idle @ 15 and stay above 10 WOT on 5x5 HOW CAN I DO IT WITH OUT GOING BROKE ?????

Ok thats enough for now thanks guys

DM,

Most of these questions can be answered by searching the forums. I can answer in general and tell you that to get the 10-15 PSI you want you with either need to get a FASS, RASP or Air Dog. You could go with a less expensive pusher pump but you will get what you pay for in regards to quality and longevity.

As far as fuel geling it has to be really cold for that to happen. I would not worry about in unless it gets below 5 degrees where you operate.

YeaH' I did some searches and couldnt answer all my questions thought I may save some time and get them all together.

It was -4* here last week so I guess I need my stock heater

Ive checked out fass, rasp and air dog but there pretty expincive for what you get a water serperator filter and pusher pump $700 yeah right Whens the price drop Ill pay $300 for a New Air Dog thats a fair price IMO... till then Im getting just a pusher pump.

You Have an HY- small Ex housing- same as 02- You are getting plenty of fuel at high boost, but not enough air- you proably can find an HX35 off a manual truck pretty cheap, they have a larger ex housing.

There have been no huge MPG increases out of Air dog, FASS or RASP

LP and pusher pumps are the same (basically) It just depends on where you put them(close to the tank, stock location) Lots of people put the "pusher" pump by the tank and retain a stock(working) LP- that way if one goes bad, you have one to fall back on

having a fuel heater is good if it is cold where you live/drive (winter blend cuts down on gelling, so do additives like standyne) It heats fuel giong back to the tank on the return line as well, raising the temp of the fuel in the tank

LP- $125 multiply that by 5=$500- depending on mileage you could go 500k if you are lucky. Some do not see paying $600 for a pump that they may only keep for 50k... Plus the FASS, RASP, and AirDog have not been out that long.

I do not know that may people getting 45psi on 5x5- 30-35 is more normal- (I think) The HY spools VREy fast with a comp be/c of the small exh housing- but they really do not move enough air for the amount of fuel you are putting to it.....

You are seeing the psi that the LP is providing to the VP- a good LP/pusher should see 13-15psi at idle and no lower than 8 at WOT- Bosch says it is dangerous to have less than 8 and 12 is ideal all the time- Remember heat is also bad and low pressure causes more heat in the VP

You can replace your stock LP ($125) and add another electric fp down stream (holley blue, Carter(also the stock lp) and you should be ok

Pm me with any other questions... ... ... ... .....

GOOD LUCK

the hard lined wated gate turbo on the 'o2 auto has a small housing dO they spool alot faster than the other ones (not sure witch is witch HY or HX??) I think mine is HY??

The '02 auto came from the factory with the HY which uses a 9cm2 housing, the HX starts out with a 12cm2 housing. The smaller housing will spool faster.

Why do people keep replaceing the lift pump over and over and not switch to a pusher??? some people have changed there lift pump 5 times.

Warrenty???

is cold fuel bad or is it just to prevent geling????

Cool fuel is  I read on here somewhere that the main gelling problem is when you buy fuel from a warmer climate then cross into a colder climate. This is because fuel is treated differently or not at all for different climates.

Will the fass cause gelling... . Ive noted a few people with fass complaining about hard to start issues in any tempature??

I thought that hard starting was attributed to high pressure while cranking???

I get alot of boost RIGHT NOW I think thats why I only smoke at launch ... ... well that and not enough fuel when staying on it. How ever the fass decreases smoke that dont make sence???

When I cranked my TB on hard, I saw 42psi boost, I backed it off to 32psi at WOT on 5x5. As I understand it, anything much over 32psi on an HY is inefficient and higher levels can cause the turbo to generate hot air, which is undesireable.

If the Fp reading just what the lift pump is trying to push to the injector pump ? or is some of the pressure created by the VP44. Tapped @ Schrader

The motor will run without a lift pump which would indicate that it is creating some level of pressure, this practice significantly decreases the injector pump's longevity. I was measuring zero at the schrader and pre-filter when my lift pump died.

whats the pusher pump only Fp PSi readings??

Isn't the stock pump rated at 12 or 15 psi??? You can buy replacement Carter pumps in 7psi (mount on frame rail to augment the stock pump) and 15psi (stock or frame locations) configurations from Summit.

Id like to idle @ 15 and stay above 10 WOT on 5x5 HOW CAN I DO IT WITH OUT GOING BROKE ?????

"Without going broke" would entail replacing your lines and fittings, and adding a 7psi pump on the frame.

just my $0. 02 :-laf

btw: Great job on the gauge installation!
