I bought a used BD Power Comp box at Fall Brawl, and have a few questions.

1. - is the box made by edge and marked different

2. - what is the best level to keep it on for mileage

3. - what kind of power should i expect with it and a set of DDII's

4. - and last but not least, what kind of mileage should i expect with my

current setup (see sig and add a comp)

So far i am loving the box, tons of power, and it has lowered the egts substancially, truck runs like a scalded dog now.

1. Yes.

2. For me, 1x3 with the cruise lit nets nearly 23 MPG at 70 MPH.

3. I am not sure. Get that on a dyno and get a bsaeline!

4. Again, the more power I add, the better it gets. With DD2 and an EZ I was getting 18 MPH on average. Your HO truck may be different.

You will see the best mileage gain on level 1

I normaly run mine on 1X3 and move it up to 3X5 for passing (while unloaded).

If you run on low sublevels (ie 1&2) you will get lots of funky de-fueling if you have stock injectors.

Sorry I can't help with the rest of your questions.

kissfan113-i had the same set up i ran 3x3 all the time . when towing 1x1or 2x1 great set up . i did not get to meet you at the fall brawl . about 15 towing around 20-22 on highway ;)

If you get enough answers, you should be totally confused ;) Since installing the Comp, my MPG has gone up about . 5, from ave. 19. 3 to 19. 8. This mostly a cross-town commute, about 25 miles in 40 minutes. Since I've had the Comp, fuel prices have risen dramatically, so I'm a little more motivated to drive economically.

My favorite setting is 4X1. I like having the power on tap but defueled to minimize smoke with my 90-hp injectors. I talked to Mark Chapple of TST about the best MPG setting for the PM3. Granted the Comp and PM3 are different animals, but they both add fuel on a per settings basis. His answer was interesting - for best MPG, run the highest setting! This advice comes with a layman's explanation and a big caveat.

The explanation is that the higher settings provide more efficient combustion, that is, less of the fuel's energy potential is wasted.

The caveat is that you must only use the minimum power required to accelerate and maintain speed. For example, if you have a 115 HP truck and you can just accelerate to 65 mph and maintain that speed, then you only need 115 HP. If you have a 400 HP truck, guess what, try to only use 115 HP to do the same job, then you'll get the best MPG.

In the end, I think it's a lot more about driving style and a lot less about parts. Sometimes we lose sight of economy in the quest for fuel-economy.

All you got's a Hemi?

Be sure to get your trans pressure turned UP!

Doing this would have saved me some headaches!

I dont care about the stock trans, Im tossing it for a DTT within the next couple weeks. Oo. Wolf pack here I come (no trans wars needed)

You won't get a war. Anything is better than stock! And you have chosen a first class group of folks to do business with.
