I finally bit the bullet and got switched from a ford to a dodge. I pick up the new one Saturday. Cummins HO 6 spd quad cab 4x4. I am just wondering if there is a checklist on this site that you can go through to make sure everything is correct? Also, if you have any other suggestions on what I need to do when I pick it up I would appreciate it. If it matters, the truck is SLT and loaded.

This list is very extensive. I had it with me when I picked up my truck, but skipped over most the items. Just too impatient. Good info however.

Just got my 2001 2500 QC, SB, 4x4, ETH 6-sp, 3. 54 LSD, SLT++ (everything but those lights on top of the roof), White over Silver, Tan leather. Picked it up 8/31/00.

Fritz's list can't be beat! Congratulations on your good taste in pickups. I'd like to alert you to fuel gauge quirks: My gauge said empty, yet a fill up only took 25 gal. ! Reading in the TDR discussions, I am not the only one - it seems to be common. So heads up.

Another hint, several members have recommended 1st oil change at 1,000 miles. Seems like a good idea to me. Wish I had. Ounce of prevention is worth..... and so on.
