HEy everyone, Well, after spending the day at MassDiesels place yesterday, I have stepped up the search on a Cummins. But first a few questions. How much oil pressure should the factory guage read when full warm? The 02 I was looking at had about 30 ish. Is this acceptable?

Also, How much does it cost to add the camper special package after-purchase? The truck doesn't have it. Is it available in a kit from Chrysler, or do I have to buy it piece by piece? Also, does the camper special group from the factory change the rate of the front springs as well, or is it just the rear overloads. The Ruenel combo will find a home on the new ram.

The Truck I'm considering is an 02 2wd QC, LB, with 3. 54 gears, auto trans, SLT, blah blah blah. It seemed a bit sluggish off the line. I'm figuring its the auto and 3. 54 causing this.

Thanks everyone,

Jeff

Oh yeah, does anyone in the MA area have a factory front bumper laying around?

Jeff if I were you I would buy it with camper special from factory, IMHO it is a better set up plus you will not void your warranty with any add ons that are not factory. New diesel will feel sluggish for the first 10-15k on it. Once it brakes in it's almost has if you added and EZ box, it does make difference. As far as oil psi I don't know it on a 2002, on mine I believe it is around 40psi, best bet is to look at a few different trucks to get a better idea. Don't jump into anything in a hurry, you surely have plenty of friends in the tdr group that are willing to help you.

Take care and good luck on your new mission,

Fred.

Jeff, don't have much on your questions, other than I also run about 40 on the oil pressure. But did want to say other than the lighter billfold, you won't regret the move to the diesel one bit:D I really liked my eX-10 for 5 years, but now that I've gone to the cummins, I wouldn't trade for anything. Mine stock with 285's wasn't much better than the 10 power- wise at first, but an EZ makes all the difference in the world. Plus much better mileage! To top it all off, (if), I mean when, you want more HP it's just a matter of which way to go! Good luck on your decision, Doug

The dealers are going to hide when they see you coming. With all the knowledge on the TDR, you'll know more than all of them put together. Let them try and pull a fast one. Good luck with the search. Ron
