I have a 2000 CTD w/auto 3. 54 rear. EDGE box 4X4 3500. I bought the truck used. This truck will lay u back on accel, however it reaches a point that I think starts laying down in high gear instead of pulling up to 80 mph. I dont run at that speed unless I'm out west . What would be the drawback to having my 24v converted back to 97 style injection pump and lift pump for reliability and power? Also does anyone know if Jim Jessup is still in Indiana?

send comp in for drag upgrade $100. ups RPM range. change to p-pump very involved, waste of time/money IMO for a street truck. trade-in if thats what you want.

Which Edge box is it? A comp or an EZ. If it is a normal comp, It defuels at 2700 rpm. The drag or hot upgrade only affects level 5 and doesn't defuel until 3200 rpm.

If totally stock except for the Edge box you are probably running out of fuel if you haven't upgraded the lift pump or have gauges to know what is happening. You may also have a slipping transmission or converter lockup clutch.

I think its an EZ box and its set on #3 setting. Dont know which lift pump it is or if the previous owner ever had any problems. I just turn on the key and wait till I hear a loud thunk and then the pump does its thing and start it. Normal?

Sounds about right. The EZ doesn't add fuel it just adds timing and boost fueling so it fuel at lower rpms for a bit more power and milage. Might still check for boost leaks at the boots, make sure they have not come loose or slipped back. How many miles are on it?

170,000. Runs great for my needs. Ive had three of these Cummins now and they all had some kind of problems.
