First of all, try to come up with a name that won't make you sound like an idiot when you're in the middle of the back yard at night calling him to come in. :D :-laf

I know what yer sayin', her other dog is named "Scooter" (taco bell dog) I feel like a dope yellin' fer that dog.

Thanks Bill, for the dog names site addy's BTW "ash" was a close second. :(

Thanks to Pitbull and Got Smoke, for the name "Deezul", I didn't even havta talk her into it, I said " How 'bout Deezul", she says "yea, thats neat" , so the little pup has a new name now. :D

Rob glad to help, I have 3 dogs and have not gotten to name any of them. My Golden came with a name when we got him at one year old "Max" (most common dog name in the world). My wife named our Pit Bull "Pop Eye" she said because he looked like he must of eaten his spinach. She also named the little girl dog Border collie "Isabo" after some character in a movie. Sounds like you have a great dog, I love Lab's, they will alway brighten up your day.

we just got a good used cat with 3 legs and a half a tail... ... ... . I named him tri-pod

:D :D

you could name your doggie quadri-ped:cool:

I like the name dammit. "Come here, dammit. " "Quit chewing my shoe, dammit!" You are going to say it any way, why not make it the dog's name? :)

We have one that is mostly Black Lab - I named her Diogi - it's pronounced D O G (but said quickly). She answers to it and also to the word dog. You might try that one.

Think how it will sound, being yelled under strenuous circumstances. I named my second Choc Lab "Chip". He was a gun dog alright, but he would go at the gun, rather than wait for my signal.

First day at the lake, I shot and missed a mallard. Chip was off like a rocket - SPLASH! - swimming for who knows what. What would you think I was saying if you saw me miss a duck, and then stand at the shoreline, waving my arms and yelling "CHIP! CHIP!"

That's what my buddy thought too. Apparently, it was hilarious.

JW, if you haven't cured your dog of going on the gun yet, go yourself to pick up 3 out of 4 retrieves when you are practicing with your dog. That will teach him that he doesn't get to go get every retrieve, and should calm him down to only go on your command.

This is one good reason that I like "rescues". Someone else had to think up the name. My Rottie was nicknamed Brook derived from Shadybrook Girl. I did add an "e" to Brook(e) after Brooke Shields. My Beauceron is named Dually because he has double dueclaws which the standard calls for leaving on.

This is not helping any though. Sometimes it helps to wait a few days to name a dog while you get to know their personality. Do a search on pet names. Lots of input there.

How about "Turbo"!

I know of a Black Lab with that name in Texas,

hangs around the shop where they restore

Buick Grand National's. You remember the

V6 turbo-intercooled Buicks from 80-87. :p
