Whoever is running the aeroquip weber adapters, did you use anything to seal the adapter to the top of the filter housing? I am about to install mine, but it looks to me like it might be a good idea to use something to help things seal. The washers from the banjo bolts don't look quite right on there.

Thanks,
Mike

I used teflon tape and the crush washer that came off with the banjo fittings--the teflon sealant(in a tube) I think is better than the tape---chris

I reused the sealing washers from the banjo bolts... you just need to center them as you tighten the fittings down. I've taken the hoses on and off several times and no leaks.

I like the Goodridge adapters better than Aeroquip's because Goodridge uses a larger diameter shoulder which keeps the washer centered better when tightening down. I started off using Aeroquip when I was doing fuel lines but the vendor I was using accidentally sent Goodridge once and I was like "hey, I like these!" Plus I could get them for only $3. 48 apiece in bulk quantities.

I believe the best device is the washer/o-ring combo. There is a metal washer
that has a o-ring squeezed into the center. Someone referred to them as "rubber metals"
or something like that. If you look at the weber fitting the threads don't go all the way to the hex. There is a groove there that looks like it would retain an 0-ring.
