Should I drain the transmission fluid when it is warmed up or after it has been sitting overnight? Is it better to let the system drain back into pan to get the most fluid out or have the fluid warm... ... I'm going to do it this morning

Thanks!!!:)

Not critical to warm up first. transmission Fluid is an ISO 46 weight (sane as a 20 wt eng oil) As you probably know, dropping the pan only gets a little under 50% of the fluid. Torque converter holds the rest.

If you want to get the most possible fluid out during a trans fluid change, loosen the valve body bolts and see what happens (a LOT more fluid!) Just remember to re-torque the bolts with an INCH pound torque wrench. This proceedure will drain 1/2 the torque converter.
