Who's got the best price on a Jacobs Rambrake for our trucks? To be honest I don't know how the others work, but my dads got a Rambrake on his '96 that works great. I'm thinkin' that I'll probably end up getting one at the Diesel Extravaganza in Terre Haute at the end of the month.

Suggestions/Comments appreciated,

Update

As you may have noticed by my sig. , I ended up not going with the Rambrake. I got a BD that turned out to be just a little cheaper (special prices at the rally), and outperform the Rambrake. (Or so the salesman says)

Well, after waiting for a few parts on order, I got it up and running. Actually about a week ago, I just never seem to be able to catch-up on this site after a few day absence!

Back to the exhaust brake, It works GREAT:D , with the trailer in tow, the truck will hold the same speed going downhill, or even slow down! Without the trailer, keeping the RPM's up while downshifting I don't have to touch the brakes until about 25mph. Also through the stack it sounds pretty cool, kinda like air being pushed through a hole that's way too small, followed by a sucking sound when the valve opens.

Anyway, a product to be recommemded, however I wish I could say the same about the instructions:( We all know how those instructions go for trucks from '89-98 models, all being tried to explain in one small book.

Happly slowin' down faster and easier,

Chris Hughes
