Well... . most of us here on the TDR do things by buying individual components, as opposed to buying some sort of kit, like one of the Banks kits. There is certainly nothing wrong with going that route, there are many fine kits out there. But, a lot of us feel that some of the kits are too restrictive (for example, the Banks kits limit the added power so you maintain safe EGT levels, etc. ) and are quite $$$ for the modest power gained.

Edge Products, TST are some of the more commonly used electronics boxes for the 24 valve engines.

Diesel Dynamics & Bully Dog are the most commonly used injectors.

South Bend & Enterprise Engine make the most commonly used clutches for those with a proper transmission :p

DTT, Suncoast, Dunrite, ATS, BD-Power are makers of excellent auto trannies.

Piers Harry & Kwik Kurt are excellent sources for upgraded single turbos. HVAC & Enterprise Engine are great sources for twin turbo setups, as well as other TDR members.

Check my truck profile for the goodies I have added.

First, no question is a quick question.

Second, what engine do you have 12V or 24V. Fill your signature in so we can see what you have.

Third, You don't have to use "kits" alot of guy's do mod's one at a time. Some mod's to the intake and exhaust that are pretty simple. Also 12V engines can be turned up mechanically more so than the 24V which relys more on electronics.

Last, I really have no idea what I am talking about so don't take my advice.

I'm assuming you are asking if can you turn it up for free, 24 valve no, 12 valve yes.

Turning up either without at least an egt gauge may end up costing you an engine though.

jessup turned up my 12v with no parts except for a different boost elbow. he just slid the plate forward. i later went in with a #8 plate kit from TST but found no difference in the performance... .

Regardless of which route you take, the first mod should definately be egt and boost gauges. If you're over-valved, a fuel pressure gauge should be included in that.

Look at your first post. It only shows up there.

I'm a 24V guy, but like others have said, you can slide the fueling plate forward in your inj. pump. I have no idea how to do it, but does give you free power. Someone with more experience may be able to help. Try the search feature too.

i know im a tst dealer but i had someone ask me cause he has the same truck and hes a cheep F***. well if anone has any idea how i am jusk cureous:D Thanx Guys

Russell,

hey its easy man..... pull the air intake that kinda goes over your injector pump... be careful ot to screw up the gasket underneath cause you can reuse it..... there a 4 bolts on the housing, 3 of which are easy to get out... then there is a 4th bbolt that has a round head... no slot or nothin. . i chiseled a slot in mine and got it out with a screwdriver and a pair of vise grips. the plate is right under the housing so pull that... ... . 2 screws hold the plate tight loosen them and pull the plate towards the front of the truck... tighten it down ..... reinstall the housing but pull it forward too... ... tighten all the bolts and reinstall the air intake... ... have fun... . might smoke a bit

how far up do you put iy? dony i need to put a boost controler in? isent there a yay to adjust it so it doesen't smoke ? thanx RussellOo.

i did m,ine all the way forward... ... . i have no boost regulator but my turbo is non wastegated so i dont worry bout it... ... . its been that way for about a year..... it will smoke if you pull the plate and the housing all the way forward..... if you dont want the smoke try leaving the plate forward but push the housing back a little bit
