QUIET back there!!!!!

today i installed some Dynomat Extreme behind the rear seat in my quad cab this stuff is great! easy to apply and it got rid of the road noise. i can hear myself think now in the cab. i can't belive DC is so cheap to omit some sort of insulation on that wall if anyone is interiseted, use the door kit. it has just enough product to cover the whole thing..... a must-do for ALL cummins owners ... . james

I didn't use Dynamat, but a very similar product.



So far I have done the rear of the cab and the roof. I am extreamly happy with the results



Doors and floor are next.

i purchased the product from Tweeter,etc..... $90. 00 for a door kit which covered the entire back cab wall. it was 12 square feet. i'm planning on doing parts of the firewall(engine side) and also the cab side firewall, doors and... ..... heck,the whole thing. www.crutchfield.com. sells kit's for $250. 00 for 30 yards worth(i think). that will be my next move. dynomat also sells a spray in product to get those hard to reach areas. ..... james

Well I know I have asked this before, but cant remember ****. How much does it take to cover the back wall, how many layers, etc.

RAMHEAD - What is the specs, i. e. thickness & material of the stuff you used? This stuff is cheaper, but I wonder if the reason is composition/specs?

i'm not sure how thick it is but the box weighed about 10lbs. its easier to apply because there is no need to heat it up to make it stick. it's almost like ice and water barrier used in roofing with a layer of metal on the outside layer of it... james

B-Quiet Extreme works well.

I used the B-Quiet Extreme behind my rear seat. Put on three layers except near the rear window where the seat hooks--could only fit one layer. Made a noticable difference in sound and drone. Sorta a pain to remove but I should have placed the deadner behind the trim in the cab corners.

Sorry that I havn't got the BHAF heat shield to the post office for shipping estimate. If you want to try the B-Quiet I could send it with the shield as I bought a larger roll. You may remember my prototype "ram air bucket" at Oshkosh, the B-Quiet Extreme was what I used to seal the opening around the turbo and ram air hoses. LC
