What is the quietest aftermarket exhaust for a CTD with the Megacab length? I want to lower egt's, but not interested is making more noise. I want to be a proud quiet diesel owner (a good neighbor). Not one of the guys who wants to "roll coal" into the neighbors rose bushes on startup; or scare old ladies upon startup.

Obviously as nice rumble is gonna happen with any exhaust. But I want stealthy!

keep it stock?

maybe just remove the cat, leave the muffler.

Then again I head some of thoses 60" long big rig mufflers can fit and keep quite.

The Mega has a cat, a muffler and a resonator back by the axle. I hear that the Donaldson 51" straight through muffler keeps things quiet, and fits as mentioned. What do you do though? Do you dump the whole system, cat muffler and resonator? Do you just cut in the big muffler and leave the rest?

I assume you intend to modify the engine? If you leave it stock the whole exercise is pointless, unless you want more sound. The EGTs one a stock engine and stock exhaust are not a problem.

Gonna do some bombing, but only 100 hp or less. Also don't want the Jake to make a ton of noise through a really opened up exhaust. I've read that the 51" Donaldson was a quiet way to go.

Any more ideas?

I did the Jenos ME kit and kept the cat/resonator... sounds perfect BUT to much drone while towing... . swapped it out for the Silent Might muffler... installed it "backwards" for a little more rumble than stock... with cat/resonator and SM on backwards its stock quiet in the cab... "little" rumble outside... and "ZERO" drone while towing-BJ

I have the 51" Donaldson on mine. A little louder than stock, with no drone. I like it.
