I would like some opinions on which shock's are best for the Ram trucks. I've been running Rancho 3 way adjustible ( I think 6000 ) for the last 100K miles. The ride just isn't what it used to be. I would like to replace them, but thought some discussion in this forum would be useful.

I've had a set of Monroe Sensitracs on for about three years now. No messing with adjustments. They ride and handle a LOT better than the stockers. No problems with control with a heavy load on board or pulling my 32' travel trailer.

shocks

I have been through 5 sets of rancho 9000 shocks . They are good for about 30 to35 k miles. They are guaranteed for life of vehicle though , my rancho dealer says I am the only person that ever brings them back:rolleyes:

I think I would try some bilsteins or edelbrock shocks:p

KYOUNG,

How about putting a few spaces in your signature so it isn't one long word which causes a scroll bar on the bottom of the window?

Thanks,

I got Bilsteins on the front of mine and have ran them on all the cars (except sprint car) and trucks since 1978, to say the least I have a lot friends at Bilstein. Never ever a problem.

Btw, they work great on the truck and the truck sorta handles now, huge difference.

FWIW - I think I am going to try Trailmaster SSV. A friend of mine who ownes a truck accessory shop (and is a 4x4 enthusisat) says he loves these things and recommends them to everybody. He said out of the all the pairs he has sold he has never had anybody complain yet. The Trailmasters also have a lifetime warranty, and he admits to replacing a few.

He said the Rancho 9000's are nice, but his customers seem to be having the same problem as KYOUNG (I guess you are not the only person to bring them back. It's probably because most people sell their vechicles before they get much more than 35k on them  )

Also stated was that the Bilstiens are probably the best shock, but the price tag follows.

My $. 02,

Ryan

I have used KYB Gas-A-Just shocks on several older pickups with good results. With many gravel road pounding miles they still feel good, I would not hesitate to buy them again.
