SNOW! Finally!

Liberal v. Conservative - a retrospective

Hello all

I have just started in electric RC cars and would like to know if any board members are into this? I am looking at a Tekin bc112C charger. Are older ones upgradeable with new software for NiMH batteries?

Thanks all

Eric

Eric,

Sorry I really can't help you with the electric cars/trucks but if you have a gas i'll be more than happy to help. It has been along time scince I played with the electric cars. What do you have? I have a Traxxas T-maxx. It is of course bombed. It has the . 21 o. s. conversion, aluminum a-arms and a couple other custom goodies.

We tried a nitro car first, I had a heck of a time getting the engine tuned, and by the time we would get the engine to run, it was time to adjust or replace the clutch. We bought the nitro at an auction so it could have had some problems before we bought it. We sold it and bought a Duratrax Evader. It certainly isnt as fast as a nitro but it is fun enough that we bought 2 more for family backyard racing. Looked at E-Maxx but too much money!

All of my planes but one are nitro though.

Stetson,

I just got the t-maxx also and I just got it broke in. On a fast run, I wasn't watching where I was going and I crashed. Lower brace and a front bulkhead was broke. I ordered alot of Aluminum and Titanium parts to replace. the only plastic parts will be the servo holders and the driveshafts!!

Paid $400 for the car now I paid $1400 for all the upgrades!!

Def. put a dent in my wallet.

Took the truck apart anticipate for the parts to get here,... even had bent A-Arm hinge pins! and bumper screws. This is just very weak parts. Got the alum transmission and alum diff. and Bulkheads.

Got all this at www.racinghardcore.com

Have fun.

Oh and I got 2 bodys. a 1946 dodge Power Wagon and the reg 2nd gen dodge body,

Gonna make a mini me :D

i got the older t-maxx with the . 15 engine that I was wanting to sell if anyone knows anyone who wants one.

E-mail me for info

ZEEEW,

I haven't heard of an update for this charger. But I would like to know the answer to that question too. I have this charger and have been using it for 5years. One of the best ones I have used.

Here is my T-maxx fresh out of the box

Eric,,

You will find that those tires will probably be a Pain in your rear,,, They have too much traction for the heighth and soft suspension of the T-MAXX, my bro has a T-MAXX and we had those exact tire setup, but with Blue Chrome 3 spoke rims. THe T-Maxx can seriously haul but with those.

Traction on pavement is a serious issue,, we were flipping my bro's T-Maxx over nearly every high speed corner. I actually got good driving his T-Maxx on two wheels with those tires,, I could go about 50 feet, but the differentials (open) wouldn't transfer much power at all to the wheels on the ground...

On dirt those wheels are awesome.

ZEEEW,

What size planes do you have??

My Dad has a Yellow Aircraft P-38 Lightning (two G-38's), a Bob Godfrey 300S with a BME 100 Twin, a Midwest Cap 232 with a BME 44, a Ziroli Zero with a G-62, and an AT-6 Texan Custom built with a straight piped G-62 (Full fiberglassed body and PPG Painted)

I have a Hangar 9 Extra 330L, 1/3 Scale with a 3w-75i

We have an assortment of little planes, like a Goldbergh Biplane witha Saito 1. 50 in the nose (supposed to be a . 90 size motor, but the BOMBing bug bit) a Goldbegh Sukhoi with a Saito 1. 80, two thunder tiger trainers with Saito . 91's, and two Tiger 60's (Golbergh) with O. S. . 91's

We've got some cars, Traxxas Stampede, a T-Maxx, an RC10-GT, and a 1/8th scale car (I can't remember the name)

I don't know about the bat. charger though, we only have one Electric truck (a few Tyco's and nikos too), the charger we use is a cheapo kinda one from Hangar 9, mechanical timer, no load adjustment, 7. 2V only.

The better charger you get the hapier you will be with it,, cheap ones don't charge the battery right, and can easily damge the battery in short time.

Hope this helps. .

I bought the "AT" Tires for running on the street so I didn't wear out the rib kind. I will use the Off road kind in the dirt and stuff but for break-in and street running, I use these. The rims on these is set out so the tires are set wider so it is a little more stable.
