R.R. Service Roads: Okay to Drive?

For those out there who work for the railroad, I was wondering if it's acceptable to drive along the service road that goes parallel to most tracks. There's a section of track near where I work with several access points from the main road. If I remain as far from the track as possible (for safety), am I breaking any laws by driving it?

I don't work for the RR, but in MI they have "x" amount of property on both sides of the tracks that is marked "NO TRASPASSING", which includes the service roads. So no, it's not legal.

The particular section of track I'm thinking of has NO no trespassing signs or POSTED signs.

in Ohio it is the same way, they have so many feet right of way and its illegal to be their with out written permission.

The BNSF in New Mexico rarely hinders people from driving the Right-of Way out in the toolies, but is pretty aggressive closer to towns and cities. Mostly because of all the homeless and trash-dumpers. It is considered private property, but the railroad's "Special Agents" are about the only ones who will chase you off, The police & sheriff's dept's usually have enough on their hands (gotta get that next doughnut, come on... ... )
