R12 capacity

Thought I had my decal under hood, but thought wrong yet again.... What do these tanks hold again ? If IIRC , somewhere around 44-46 oz sounds right ? Plus 6 or 7 oz of oil ?

99 FSM calls for 8.1 oz oil and 28 oz of 134A. My 06 calls for 32 oz 134A. bg

r12 system make use of a sight glass so as you charge you can watch the progress as they diminish you are almost there..............

Call a radaitor shop , but I think it's about 2 1/2 lbs

My 93 FSM says 44oz. of R12 is max capacity, and that charging pressure should be kept below 50psi.

That sounds more correcter. I remember that my 91 gasser had the factory sticker on the fan shroud which gave two different capacities for gas and diesel engines (44/38oz.). But my 93 diesel doesn't have any label under the hood and I can't find anywhere that the 93 factory service manual makes a distinction between gas and diesel. Perhaps they made a change to the system in 93. I would go with 38oz. anyway.

My buddy's 93 still has the sticker under the hood. It says 38oz. for the diesel engine.

Thanks guys. Thought it took 4 cans to fill along with 6 or 7 oz of oil . My sticker must have gotten lost recently..... still have the original Chrysler cassette still wrapped in the cell pane though !!!
