Thanks, TDR Staff
For everybody that remembers the little Garmon contingent in Houston, this is what we have going on for this year. Y'all remember the white race truck Jeff was put off the track with, still ran a 9. 97, well, that truck is dead in the water. Tis' no more. Jeff bought a donor truck, that's wrecked in english, and the worked began. We pushed the donor in my shop and started cutting. Hood, fenders, bed and cab was removed. The fame really looked sick all naked like it was. Then the race truck was moved to the shop. I drilled about 3000 rivits out to remove the skin and I stripped that one down to the frame. The body mounts were removed from the donor, install on the race truck and the cab was mounted. This was 2 and a half days from start. The bed was shortened 24" to fit the wheel base and mounted. Now we have a real problem. The truck weighed 4020 without the roll cage.

FLETCHER How do we get the thing 1500 lbs heaver? :--) :--)

Jeff's got some new injectors he's working on and some pump mod's, so she may be at around 750 HP when it hits the track.

A new Pro Street truck on the way.

This year is gonna be a blast.

See Ya.

. . Preston. . Oh, and the donor, still got a 5. 9, rh transmission and a frame to build something out of. Whatdoyathink? :D

Fletcher... ... ... ... . As Hoss can attest, the old truck was not "legal" for anything. Jeff didn't have a class for it. The cage tubing was to thin. No glass for windows. The nets were illegal. No floor all the way across the truck. So it was project that had out lived it's place and time. But we will have the same engine and chassis.

Thanks Hoss. I'll try that. I'll just get some lead wire to weld it with and off we go.

Ted... ... ..... Down here, Garmon makes the power and Joe Webb puts it to the ground.

:) no doubt about that. A friend and I recently had a conversation about how we would like to make a trip down there for some "testing" someday :D

Preston,

Best of luck on the new ride, I know you boys don't need luck I saw what your trucks can do in Texas. I am looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with next

The main reason for the change was 1) no class for Jeff's truck 2) since the 9's it would take a new cage and other stuff to make it legal.

So, back full circle by putting a steel body back on it. Funny part was only 400 pounds was gained. Even has power windows now. :p Of course that was without turbo's, battery, fuel cell etc. But I figure we will need to add about 1000 pounds somewhere to reach the 5500 minimum weight.

Truck looks real good on the chassis. Now, he can start adding power to it, like he has done to other trucks, not having to worry about running too fast. I'm looking forward to it for sure. It should debut at the TS/DHRA race in Bowling Green. We'll see. Hopefully the paint and final stuff will be done.

Great , to see Jeff is going to stay in it , I have been thinking about coming to Bowlen Green, I have race there before on the way to the U. S. Nationals , pluss i hear the weasel might show up. me and scott want to stay the fastest dragster and the fastest truck .
