Competition Sfi ?

Competition South Bend/Dave's Diesel

I work for a communications company and this morning I had a couple of my technicians working on splicing a fiber about 40 miles north of my office. It was critical that we got this fiber spliced ASAP and they needed some parts from the office. Well I gathered up the necessary materials and left the office in my truck heading up the highway "in a hurry".

About the 1st 10 miles of the highway is usually congested with several traffic lights and a speed limit of 50mph. I was making my way around and through traffic at about 60 mph when I saw a Furd F250 in my rear-view on my a**. I gave him a little black smoke and not wanting to get a ticket I moved over to the right lane and let him pass. As he drove by I noticed a "Super-chips" sticker on his back glass. He slowed beside me on my left (cruising at about 60 in traffic) he stepped on the go pedal and cruised on past me. I kept an eye on him, as soon as we got out of the congested area (speed limit now 65mph) I eased up beside him on his right. He saw me coming and had a jump on me (never let me get even with him) I stepped on the smoke pedal and pulled past him. Last time I looked I was doing about 100 mph. We quickly came up on some traffic and he slowed and turned off the highway. This was a 2WD short bed F250 with a 7. 3 I assume. Now, I did not pull away like he was sitting still but I would imagine I had about 4-5mph on him.

While this was all happening I was on the phone with one of my technicians (not the safest thing to be doing) he kept asking me what's going on? Can you hear me? What are you doing? I told him to hold on I was busy and heading his way as fast as I could (literaly).

Any idea about how much hp that F250 has with a super-chip??

I hope to see him again soon and have an even start. :D

I ran a 97 with a reprogrammer in it the other day he didn't have much it was so bad i kept lettin off and letting him catch up then i'd stabbit and run off he wasn't to happy:p :D

I ran into a 7. 3 on I80. He toyed with me all the way to I80 (we were on the same back roads for a while). On the strait away, up hill, he tried to run me. I had the cruise set at 75 up a steep grade. I didn't realize he was racin' me till I heard that 7. 3 screamin and he was glaring at me. I only had to give it a little more go pedal and that was all it took. NOt much of a challenge.

I ran a 02 stroke. He was on my a$$ when we got off of an exit. Once on the 2 lane he tried to pass me on the right. I noticed when he was at my cab corner so i cracked into it and pulled away from him. He followed me into Wal-Mart andasked if i had propane i said no i dont do drugs. He was a nice guy and told me he had a TST chip forget what stage it was,4 in. exh. ,And a Banks turbo. I told him what i had and I thought i did well for all he had done. Corse mines not stock... He He

OH Gee whiz - any late Dodge equipped as yours is should walk away from a 7. 3 with no problems at all - I can absolutely blow my RVing bud's chipped 99 PS Super Duty away when towing - and even my old '91 with Banks add-ons and tweaked pump would stay even with him in a drag race...

Later, good running (if you can find one!) 6. 0's might give you a run for yer money tho'!

I'am somewhat nutered when it comes to fuel delivery. Wish i had a P-Pump. The rotary is ok but you can only take it so far.

I played with a 7. 3 the other night getting on the interstate on the way to my buddy's house to let him drive my truck, I just put the Comp on a few days ago. I had a Ford riding my butt for a few miles and he got behind me to get on the interstate. So when I got to the top of the on ramp I was in fifth gear at about 1900 rpm. I stomped on it and left him in a cloud of smoke. I shifted into sixth and kept it on the floor until I hit 90 mph, which didn't take long. I then slowed down to 70 and put the cruise on . About a minute or more later he came by me doing about 85. If he had slowed down next to me I would have layed off in it again. Don't know if it was chipped or stock.

Saturday night I was out cruising in my Mom's truck (see sig) when Some kids in a brand new Hemi powered ram, still had temp tags on it, wanted to play. We were rolling about 35 mph when we nailed the go pedal and I just walked past them like nothing, Not once but twice:D Then a Neon with a fart pipe wanted a try and guess what, they lost as well.

Don't you just love it when a ford driver thinks his truck is quick then you show him the smoke and send him home to buy a Dodge:p :D

Oh yeah!

I had a guy pull up next to me in his PS.

We were in stop and go traffic on the freeway.

He asks "You got propane ?".

I say "propane? I don't need propane"

He says "you should try it it's alot of fun. "

I say "I have ***(held up 4 fingers) hosre power".

About that time I look forward and would'nt ya know it . We have about 75 yards of space in front of us.

We looked at each other ,nodded and punched it.

My truck just launched.

Just as I hit 2nd gear I was on the brakes.

I check my mirrors to see him leaving a smoke cloud trying to catch up.

He pulls along side and proclaims

Wow That thing's Quick!

I just Smiled :)

Propane? I don't need no stinkin Propane. .

Anytime you guy's are crusin' the I95 corridor between Balt. and Phila. , look me up;)

I'd be more than happy to show you guy's what a real Stroke can do!!:-laf :p Haven't lost to a local Dodge yet, so I need some competition!:D

Gary:D

I'd be more than happy to be humbled!! I'm a diesel nut:p and love to see big power, no matter how or what makes it!!Oo.

I'm in no way saying my truck is the baddest thing out there(far from it!!), but just because it's a Powerstroke, doesn't mean just any Cummins can beat it ;) :p

Greg - that was more aimed at some of the east coast diesel owners who like to tease us west coasters that all the high-horsepower rigs are in THEIR backyards! ;)

NOW, they can put up, or... . :) :)

I'm like you - I'm for good power in a good truck, no matter WHAT emblem is attached to it, and have happily owned FAR more Fords than Dodges! ;)

I would love to stop by for a little fun. I have yet to loose to a ford yet so it should be a good race. I live near Exton PA, but I go down to Northeast Maryland lots of weekends in the spring and summer to a friends place. Maybe we can meet up sometime. I may even bring some backup just in case. My buddy that has the place in northeast has a 01' 24v p-pumped motor and should have a new set of twins installed by this spring.

Where about in Maryland are you?

If you ever make it out to Cincy, I'm your huckleberry!

Kevin,

I live in North East and keep my boats at McDaniels:D I also pass through Exton now and again;) A buddy of mine lives in Chester Springs. What color is your truck? I will keep an eye out for you this summer and we can shoot the breeze :p

Kenny,

I will definetly be trying to hit some DHRA races this year:D I may make it down to Dennis Perry's in May also.
