Well it finally caught up with me,all my 4wd launches must have taken there toll. I snapped my output shaft while building boost to launch the truck. Last I seen was 20PSI and then snap ,it was over. I knew right away what I did. I left the front driveshaft out for now until i find a solution,since I cannot resist temptation,and will break the new one the same way if I dont. The most embarassing part of the entire ordeal wasnt losing to the camaro SS by default ,it was getting towed by a PSD tow truck,but at least the tow truck had a straight pipe and a 50hp chip .

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes! It would be nice if we can isolate the breakage to something outside of the transmission. So, you didn't get any runs in at all? If so, what was your e. t. ?

Cryo

John, when Chris broke his output shaft we had an outfit cryo one for his truck. It's still holdingOo.

Compared to our truck you guys are rookies in the carnage business. With our testing,drag racing, power braking and me driving it gently daily Bill broke 3 output shafts and I broke 1, 2 of them were factory , 2 of them were cryo.



I took out 3 vp 44 pumps, 3 factory lift pumps, 2 mallory lift pumps, 1 cylinder head, 2 turbos, 1 rear end, 12 u joints, 1 complete drive shaft, 1 pinion yoke, we mysteriously went through 5 sets of tires somehow



And now the batteries gave up after 160, 000 miles.



I am now driving a duramax, Shanti took the dodge and gave me the duramax , something about abuse



Bill said its all sled pullers fault.

Be carefull what you ask for. Last time I saw you you told me that you were trying to break it and couldn't figure out why it had not. But it did launch nicely.

One popularly held theory is that he has little voodoo 'dolls' representing all our trucks. In an effort to win at the pulls or the strip - he removes vital parts or damages them.



Remember the 'carnage god' ?(very similar to the 'hangover god' or the 'how did she find out about that?! god') - Gene is the personified version of that.

My shaft was a stocker, I didnt get any runs in,it broke on the first run. Next time I go ill have a spare OD unit set up,so I can swap them at the track. Matt, my carnage shelf is slowly growing , Ill add the output shaft to it now along with my flexplate(its cracked),but didnt fail yet. I have another stock output shaft in it for now. I had launched at 20PSi + for almost 2 yrs now, so i had it coming. It was very embarrasing to break at the line,on the first run after driving 2 hrs to get there .
