Hey Briar Hopper, I love the last line in your signature! I became an NRA Life Member about 10 years ago, upgrading my membership to Endowment level at the beginning of the year. #ad
Heck, even my wife and 4 year old daughter are NRA members!

fest3er-I've been a LIDAR (laser) instructor for over 4 years now. The operational distance for oncoming traffic is anywhere from 100 feet to 1/2 MILE! By the time you're in the sights and speed is detected (approx . 3 of a second) you don't even have time to get your foot off the gas. Also the beam width is very narrow so if your detector does go off its already too late. Hope this answers your ???

V-Man,
Don't want to make an enemy out of you, but I have to say I wish you was in another line of work... You're helping the Po-Po, the Fuzz, at their extremely lucrative game...
And that's all it is... otherwise law-abiding citizens are finding themselves fleeced of hundreds of dollars each, in traffic fines, and high insurance costs, or even suspended licenses, all because they had a momentary lapse in paying attention to how fast they were going. I'm not a habitual speeder, but the last 2 times I was ticketed, was because I was talking to a passenger and not paying attention to how fast I was going.
The cops need to be concentrating on nabbing the real roger roller skaters, the ones doing over 20 over the limit. Instead, they are enforcing the law to the max. I was ticketed for 4 mph over the limit. Yes, you read that right. Your devices make this possible. I'd almost sooner sell liquor to underage kids.
They can bleat their laughable Joan Claybrook/Ralph Nader "Speed Kills" propaganda all they want, but the truly educated know the truth... that traffic fatalities have continued to fall even as speed limits have gone up nationwide...
Yes, I'm angry. I get taxed big time, and it goes to pay for them to do this to me.
But thank you at least, for sharing your information with us, and please do not hate me for disliking what you do... .

Briar Hopper-no offense taken. In my 25 years I've learned that there are a**holes in EVERY occupation. For me, its 20+ MPH over or I won't bother getting my pen out. I take NO pleasure in givin' a regular guy a hard time as long as he/she remembers that 1)I pay taxes too, and 2)I don't get paid to listen to grief. I don't give any and don't expect to take any #ad

V-man,
You're right, it's really hard on a lawman every time he pulls anyone over, he has to be totally alert, just no telling what kinda clown or freak he might have pulled over... they do have my sympathy in that regard. For the record, my best buddy and fishing partner is a retired narcotics officer, and I work part time for a sheriff's deputy who owns a small electrical company. They too, are angry and puzzled about the overzealous enforcement here. Wish YOU could move down here and teach 'em how it's done, you seem like a straight up guy. Thanks for your understanding, you'll do to ride the river with !

This is great info!
V-man,why is it that all decent police drive Cummins? If we bought them all Rams would it help the bad apples? How's it make you feel when they get called Nazi SS and so forth?

Also, I've mostly left my sig. off to help save space and to load faster, but I think it is time to put the most important part of it on every time.

Hey John, MGM,
Right on with the NRA thing... like I say, it's about freedom...
I'm feeling guilty for venting a little much at V-man's expense, he doesn't make the policies and procedures the Ky. police are made to follow. Like he says, there are good ones, and bad ones. I'm sure it doesn't go over so great with him to hear the references I made to the SS, but they are that rough here in Kentucky... The main problem is the head honchos. It is the same problem with our armed forces, the clowns in the Pentagon making bad decisions and selling out to big business at the expense of the troops on the firing line, and the heads of major corporations making decisions that endanger the health or safety or employment security of their loyal but lowly employees...
I'm just an educated, hard-working southern man, single father of one kid, with custody, sitting back watching my rights get eroded away by fools and leftists... my only recourse is the voting booth.

It is not too hard to put an X-band or K-band Gunn diode in a microwave horn, point it out the grille, and modulate the DC supply to the diode to make a radar trap read any speed you want. But I imagine law enforcement people are trained to recognize the symptoms anyway.
Also the diode vendors tend to get suspicious.

Good defensive driving radar dectors/jammers
would not be needed. My issue with all that
$100-400 equipment You all are trying to
do the same thing that We were using overthe
frendly skies of Viet Nan it cost millions
for our systems it didn't always work,so
be careful.
