Radiator Cold Weather Cover

Do any of you have the radiator cold weather cover from dodgeparts.com? If so can you give me some info. I emailed dodgeparts.com for a better description and they said mopar dosent give them a good description either.



Whats it made of? How does it attach? Are the four openings zippered or velcro? Are you satisfied with the product and is it holding up? Any info would be great.

I do not. But I have looked into it. It seemed a simple install, I just never failed to get to operating temp in a decent time. I live in Minnesota, and have started in -13 degrees without plugging in. No complaints. Decided to save the cash.

I have a set of the fronts for my 2nd gen, I don't notice much difference vs. running bare, so I have not installed the past two winters. They will cause to run a little hot above about 50° F, and with them installed the OAT reads incorrect for anything under highway speeds for about 10 miles. These were given to me, and I appreciate the gift, but unless it never gets above about 0°, I would save your money for something else. YMMV

Used pieces of cardboard on my first 3 CTD's, worked great !!!! Just cut them to fit behind the condenser(your A/C pump does engage in defrost mode) and bend them over the top of the radiator to prevent them falling down to where you can't retrieve them.

I have ran one on my 05 for over a month and love it. it velcros open and shut very strong. easy install cost me 120. 00 from dealer. I didn't get the battery blankets that are available. I think it was well worth it and should last a long time.

heres the one i made from a piece of plexiglass i had sitting around, it slips in between the radiator and intercooler and pretty much has no place to go so it's secure, granted we don't exactly get real cold here in loserana what we do get is made nasty with our life sucking humidity so heat in under 10 minutes is real nice, i figured with it behind the cooler it still may do some good, couldn't hurt anyway

I have the Mopar cold weather cover. Since my dad retired from Chrysler, it only cost me $87. I love it. In temps below 35 degress, I have it closed 100%. If it gets above that, I'll open a flap or two depending in how long I'll continue to drive. If you only drive for 45 minutes or so to work, you'll never need the airflow. It's nice to get the whole cooling system up to temperature, as well as the engine block. I think the biggest difference is if you're sitting somewhere idling, the engine keeps the heat it has and doesn't cool off much. I've seen my '02 go from 190 degrees to below a reading by sitting in a parking lot waiting on someone to show up. If you think you need it, get it. I would say if you're in Utah, you'd be glad you spent the money.
