Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) radiator drain plug

If I am going to change the lower radiator hose do I have to mess

with the drain plug.

Not unless you want to save the coolant. With the truck cool, remove the radiator cap so you wont drain the reserve coolant reservoir and remove and replace the hose. If you decide to mess with the drain, turn 1/4 turn and pull out on it to drain. bg

I am going to replace all hoses coolant t stat don't need to save any coolant. So I don't need to mess with it correct?

Right

Right, the bottom hose connection will drain the radiator much faster and should be better as far as foriegn stuff being flushed out. Have fun. bg
