Quick question, just got my truck back from the dealer today, replaced the fuel lift pump under warranty (guess that makes me part of the 216/1693 club! Actually got a 230 also about 2-3 weeks later and a tow truck ride. ). Anyways, While it was there I figured I would have them flush the radiator since it was a little overdue, well actually 20,000 miles overdue! I know, I know but I figure I paid them probably $45 for labor and I wouldn't have to do it and it would get done right. Well now I am wondering. Here is my inexperienced question. Before the flush the coolant color was a dirty brown. I figure if the flush is done right, it should resemble a fluorescent green:confused: . Is this true? I have no problem paying anybody the money IF the service is done correctly and the result is positive. Well, 10 minutes after leaving the dealer I stopped for fuel and decided to check the color and level of the fluid. It is still brown!! Should I be worried, should I call them back? Thanks. :)

It might take more than one flush to clean

The system, letting the cooling system get brown is why. The rusty silt gets into every pore of the cooling system. Its really hard to just flush it out in one flush. I suggest you fill it with just water and flush it every couple days, until its clean. Merv
