Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) radiator leak

Can't seem to see any leakage from hoses. Its on the passenger side down low along the edge of the radiator. What is a good "stop leak" ?

You should pull the radiator & have it repaired, but if you only want to get by..... "Dike" is the best stop leak on the market. It seals up cracked blocks, radiators etc. & best of all... . it washes out of the engine completely with straight water. It is activated by antifreeze... ... available at most equipment stores & some auto parts stores.

What kind of a leak would be intermittant? Its mostly ok but every once in a while it will spill a cup of fluid.

I would think that it is water collecting below the radiator & pouring out on inclines. I would check out below the radiator & see if this is possible.

What happened yesterday: Drove an hour straight and then drove around parking twice with no loss of antifreeze. The third time drove a short distance parked ,came back and there was a pool of antifreeze on the ground and the overflow had lost about 2 cups. ?? Drove home ( a hours drive ) and parked checked an hour later no leak and same amount of fluid in the overflow bottle - put in some Bars antileak and conditioner idled for 20 minutes no leak. Seems like its from the overflow bottle but there does't seem to be signs ; although there is antifreeze on the frame below the right hand corner of the radiator.

My 98. 5 is also leaking on pass side, seems to be about half way down.



I've seen somewhere here where the schrowd had rubbed through on someone but, can't seem to find it.



I'm gonna pull it tomorrow and see whats going on.

After spending hours looking and checking for loose hoses, combustion gases in the antifreeze, antifreeze in the oil I finally replaced the radiator cap! My level hasn't dropped since... it's worth a try

OK, pulled mine today, capped the ends, and pressurized @ 12 lb. With soap spray I could easily see several small 1/2" or so cracks where the radiator is crimpped to the PLASTIC tank. It looked like before long these small cracks would soon be one 10" one.



Have no idea why this happened,never even had the radiator out before.



O well new one with lifetime warrenty will be tomorrow here for $245. 00
