I have noticed that i have been loosing antifreez the other day i started the truck to let it warm up when i came back out i hade a nice little puddle of coolant under the truck so today i took it to the local shop to have the system pressure checked and they told me that my radiator needs to be replaced, when i asked if it is rebuildable they said they would not recommend it. They quoted me a price of right around a grand for a new radiator, cap, upper and lower hoses and cooling system flush.

so her is my problem i currently have 150,000 miles on my truck I have been planning on trading it in for a new 3500 later this year when my jeep is paid off so i am trying to spend as little money on the truck as possible.

Is there any thing i could do to get me by for a while, should i try some radiator stop leak? or look into getting it rebuilt?

really need some oppinoins, i am bumming right know

:(

thanks alot

I think I would try the stop-leak, unless you can find a shop that would be reasonable. If it doesn't cost too much, you might get a return on the cost when you sell the truck.

The price quoted for labor and top shelf parts isn't that far off.

Some good after market radiators are out there for less than 500. DC wants 7xx something retail as I recall, can we say ouch?

If the leak comes back after the Bars sealer, ante up and get it repaired (radiator change). You don't want to let it overheat. The trade-in $$ might be significantly less! :(

Good luck
