Is there two different radiators for gen 1 trucks? Mine looks as if it has been changed out with someone making custom brackets. Also the radiator cowl seems to be missing and I cant believe that it would have simply broken and been removed

Thanks

Yes there are two types of radiators. The older 88 to 91 model with out intercooler had the tanks on the top and bottom of the radiator. Then when the intercooler was installed with the 91. 5 model. Then they went to a cross flow model radiator. Or this is my understanding.

You don't have a sig set up so we know what year truck you have. What is the year of the one in question.

The truck is an early 91 without the intercooler. I checked it this morning and the radiator tanks are on the sides. The guy must of lost a radiator and replaced it with a newer version. Is the later version suppose to be a higher cooling capacity?

Thanks

Dean

The cross flow is a better design. It is larger and has more surface area to work with.

Did they open the support housing to the size of the cross flow radiator?
