How does the trim around the radio come out on the 4th Gen? I know there are two screws in the top. The two screws in the bottom will not come out. I don't want to strip the bottom screw heads. It is like they are glued in.

Mine has three screws. Two in the top under the little rubber mate and then one behind the bazel around the 115V outlet. No screws in the bottom. Maybe the difference between the my manual transmission and an auto. You do need a small prybar to pop the bazel out of the tabs. I got a set of plastic trim tools at Harbor Freight.

Not sure what to tell you about the bottom screws because I didn't have that problem. But if you have the 110 inverter you have to pop off the inverter bezel and the is a screw behind that. Other wise it's just the four screws and carefully pull off the entire bezel. Good luck... . (I have five screws with the full center console).

Thanks. Tryingit... ... at the two screws at the bottom under the rubber mat?

Those are the two that won't come out. I don't want to strip the heads. There is an irritating little noise that seems to be coming from behind the bezel. Sounds like a loose wire and I just want to check it but don't wont to break the bezel. It seems like the tray under the bezel (with the two screws I can't get out) has to come out.

I pulled the cupholders and everything last night. The 110 volt plug is off to the side and I didn't think of it having a screw as well.

My big concern is the two that won't come out.

For the center console there are two phillips head screws on the bottom. Behind the inverter there is a star bit screw. You may also have to take apart the the top of the console Pop out bezels) But you can leave in the cup holder/coin box. You may have to force out those two screws. I use a small drill with a #2 bit. I never had a problem with them so I'm not sure. I'm a t work now but I can post some pictures if you want them...

I will take you up on the pics. I'm concerned about those bottom screws and want to make sure we are talking about the same ones. Thanks alot for the help. I owe you one. Alan

It's no problem.

These are the two screws.

Hidden screw

Once you remove the bottom two screws the bezel around the cup holder comes out. The the entire bezel surrounding the cup holder has to come off. Then remove the other three screws and it (radio bezel) pops out

Tryingit,

You are the bomb. The two screws on the bottom (under the rubber mat) are the ones that won't break loose.

Now that I see all of the wires under there, that's probably where my problem is. It sounds like a wayward wire is occasionally making a little vibrating noise. I probably won't have to pull the bezel, just that piece held in by the two screws I can't get out.

I really appreciate you taking the time to take the pics and post them. If I can ever do anything for you, let me know.

Alan

Thank you. Actually there will be no wires under yours. That's an aftermarket fuse block I installed and the tubing/wiring for my on board compressor. So you will have a lot of real estate under there. Good luck... . Nick B.

When I pulled out the cupholder, there was only the one harness under it. That's probably the one you are referring to.

I've got to track this down.

Thanks, again for your help.
