All the control buttons on the Infinity radio/cassette in my '96 are really driving me nuts. Power button works OK but all the rest have to be pushed several times before working. When I push the "Mode" button it often goes to the "Seek" function and I have to keep pushing it several times before it switches bands (this is true as well with the station pre-sets).

Anyone know the fix?

Although I don't have the Infinity radio, I've gone through 2 stock units that have done the same thing. I found it easier to just replace it with a better sounding aftermarket unit than attempt to have someone try to fix the stock one.

replace it, honestly. The actual switches for the controls are carbon-disc momentary contact. After a while, they get to the point where gunk builds up on the contacts and you've really got to mash the buttons to get them to do anything. The switches are soldered to the faceplate's circuit board, so honestly it'd be much cheaper and less hassle to pick up a used radio than have yours fixed.
