Hey guys... . I usually the go to guy here for HID tech but I need help and I can only ask here since I got banned from that other site.

lately I dont listen to the radio much because ive noticed my factory stereo had terriable reception and today if ound out why... its because of my HID's.

I wired them up to the fog light circut and its a standard GP. Thunder kit with swapped circuts. Is there something I can do to fix this.

Thanks and if nobody knows does someone else know how to change IP address or hide it so I can go over to that other dodge diesel site to get some answers. .

Thanks guys. .

P. S I got banned because of my links in sig... ... I'm not a mean guy but yall already know that :D

Dan try swaping out the ballast if they are made in China that's the problem, inferior product. Is this on AM of FM band??

I´ve got the same issue with my 02, nad I have Hella ballasts. I don´t know if they are made in china, but they were not cheapo...

I live in town so I don´t use the drivinglights that much and I rather listen to the engine than the radio. My guess is to isolate the ballasts from ground(ie body), but I haven´t tried it yet... maybe you have.

Would be sweet to find a solution, but it´s not that important. :-laf

Have you tried a filter (ref. Crutchfield or Radio Shack) on the power supply line to the radio? The RFI is probably coming in either through the power line or the antenna. Can you shield the ballasts?

Hella's are good euro made units. Mine are Bosch and no problems. Have you tried 1 at a time energize ??

Where is your ground located. I have installed Genesis HID in both the headlamp and fog lamps with no issue. Ground wire to headlamp and fender bolt on my '06.

Dan: trouble shoot the system by unpluging the 12v to the ballast then vice versa. Does this make sense??? maybe it is just one of the ballast

I'm not familiar with the ballasts used in these - but in similar radio interference in my Ham Radio mobile setup, the added Carter Pusher pump and transfer pump were generating hash from the pump's brushes - a simple . 01 mmf 50 volt bypass capacitor across the power leads removed the hash completely.
