Radio connections and xm radio

My Standard cd radio that came with my truck has a 10 pin male connector in the back that is not used. Does anyone know what this is for and if it can be used for xm radio. If not how can I direct connect a xm reciever to this radio

the connection is for adding a cd changer. I used a PIE CHRY02-AUX Auxiliary Input Converter and connected my IPOD to the factory stereo.

I'd just get the XM FM transmitter. The one for about $50 connects between your antenna and radio. It blocks the frequency you select and your XM will always be clear. I have a Roady2 and the built in FM trans was too weak, strong broadcast signals gave me static.

I know folks have been using the PIE CHRY02-AUX Auxiliary Input Converter mentioned to do a direct connect from the roady to the radio. Some day when I have the $70 not waiting to be squandered on some other toy I plan on doing the conversion.

My sirius radio has a built in fm madulator so there are no wires to hook up just the power and the antenna.

The roady II also has a built in FM modulator. However, the modulator just doesn't provide the same quality audio as a direct. Oh, oh... imho. Also, I have used a modulator and when you are near FM stations that use that fequency there is interference and you need to change frequencies.

The Pie Adapter is the way to go IMO, I have it in the Ram for my Sirius PnP. I was using the FM modulator function in the wifes PT Cruiser for her PnP but it wasn't that great. . oh much better than FM but not as good as the truck so direct wired hers too and the sound quality was very noticeable.



Its my understanding that using the FM modulation changes the signal you get from the satellite where direct wiring it retains the digital signal.
