radio help!

saturday morning at 4 am i was going outside to go to work. it was raining. i went to start the truck and notice the grid heater working, so i leaned over and turned off my radio to give my battier some help. started the truck no problems. leaned over to turn the radio on and nothing! so i held the on switch down still nothing. i was running late so i just said forget it. at work i turned the dome light on and turned around and noticed that the back of the truck was very dark. well now my dome light isn't working. sunday was the next time i got a chnace to look at it. checked the fuses still nothing. then i noticed that the light under my hood wasn't working! so at that point i threw my hands up and got ready for work. today i pulled the dash off and checked the wires going to the radio. when i turned the truck on i noticed that my Acc wire ( the wire that get's juice when you turn the key on) had power going to it but the wire that hooks right up to the battier was dead! no juice. so now my question is does this happen when i turn the key on or is it always suppose to have power? and if so any suggestions where to look under that huge hood?? being 17 me and my buddy need music! we are going crazy without it!

You may have an ignition switch problem. After the truck starts, try turning the key back and forth a little and see if it all starts working. If you have power up until you start it, that's where I would start looking.

Jimmy, if you have a wire that hooks up directly to the battery and there is no juice in the wire then there is something wrong. I suspect there are a few more things not working and you just haven't found them yet. Is the wire at the battery equipped with a fuseable link? if so, then where were you checking the wire that hooks to the battery? Check for voltage on both sides of the link, it is close to the battery. It is like a fuse and can burn out. Replacements can be had at auto parts stores.

the dome light, under hood light, and the cargo light aren't working. we have figured that they all run off the battier. now it has to be a fuse, i hope dodge installed a fuse. anyway. . does anyone know what that fuse looks like. i looked and all i see are little black boxes.

Fuse # 15; if it is good, then the fusible link powering it has fried. It is a grey one located in the wire bundle near the drivers side hood hinge spring.
