Hey guys I swear I've tried to figure this out on my own. I even read the owner's manual!

When I start the truck, the radio comes on. I want peace and quiet when the engine first starts! I'd even be happy if the big display were off. My truck is a Laramie with the Uconnect 8.4an radio. I tried turning off the radio with the truck running and pressing "S" and 1 on the seat to save the Driver 1 preferences, but it doesnt seem to affect the radio.

I always use the same remote. Is it recognizing that remote and I somehow told that remote that I wanted the radio on at startup?

Thanks.

I don't think you can actually turn the radio off, ever. I leave mine set to radio, to prevent the iPod autoplaying on startup. Then I just manually turn the volume knob to zero. Silence on startup.

The radio is always on. You can mute it but the mute goes away on the next ignition cycle. You can also turn the volume way down like MattandLana.

I do know the Mute resets (to un-Mute) when the trucks is started. I can have the seat heaters come on automatically but I can't have the radio off (silent) when the truck comes on without manually turning the volume down?

The radio is always on because everything or almost everything goes through it. The backup camera, navigation, phone pairing and all the settings and controls would go away if the radio was off. I've tried a lot of different things to keep the sound off and the only thing that seems to work is to turn the volume way down.

Haha! I know what you mean, but this doesn't sound too unreasonable, really! Like: "I've found that the only way I can make the water run colder is to turn the hot water down." :)
