I had mentioned on this forum last year that I had intermittent static on AM, FM, Satellite and CD.
It started right after I mounted my Lance Camper last Spring. I originally thought it was somehow caused by the camper. I took the camper off last Fall and sure enough the static went away. I towed my 5th wheel to AZ for the winter and no static during the whole trip down. While in AZ it started again, very intermittent at first and then worse.
Today, I took it to the dealer since it was failing most of the time. They diagnosed it as bad speakers in the dashboard. It sounds reasonable since the static actually followed the music, louder and softer in the background which could be a speaker. They didn't have the parts in stock so I have to go back when they come in.
I don't know how hard it is to get the speakers out, hopefully not a full dash removal.
