2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Radio question

I have been wondering this for a LONG time, well since I bought the truck new in 97. With the stock radio in I have always gotten an obnoxious high pitched 'squeal' on AM channels. I always assumed it was the radio. Then I went to and aftermarket radio and it still does it. So i went throught the checking grounds routine. Everything is exactly like it should be, and the antenna seems to be perfect. I was just wondering if I was the only one that experience's this or are there others? I hate it due to the fact that my favorite station is an AM sports station out of KC.

Russell, check your grounds, on radio and antenna, also put some dielectric grease on the ant. plug in.

A cellphone will cause noise in your radio even if your not using it but have it turned on. They will frequently transmit a signal to confirm or locate a cell tower.
