I got in the truck this morning and heard the radio while waiting for the grid heater to go off. I then start the truck and the radio is dead. I tried to get it to come on by pushing the button off and on. No luck, I drive to work and then try to look at the manual to find the fuse and before I do that I start the truck again and now the radio works fine. I have noticed in the past on occassion I hear a scratching sound or a squealing from it. It has stopped working before and after 3-4 seconds it will come back on. I am afraid I have a short somewhere or a bad connection. I thought it might be a speaker but if that was the case the other ones would work but this time it went totally dead. The truck is 6 weeks old and 2600 miles so it is under warranty. Is there an electrical person that could help out?

Saw one the other day that was doing the same thing. Ended up being one bad battery at 8. 5v. Isolate the batteries and load check each one.

I guess I waited too long. I tried to start the truck this morning and it was dead. I drove it Saturday trying out the light plug I had installed for the trailer. Did not drive it from Saturday about noon till trying to start it this morning. It is under warraanty of course so I guess it gts a free ride on a wrecker.

my stock radio ate one of my cds and won't gvie it back... ..... not even close to the same problem you are having.....

had the same problem but only when it rained..... fiqured it was a short. . still havent found it but radio hasnt gone out either

When the radio fails do your power windows still roll down? I had somewhat of a similar problem and it turned out to be the wires going to the ac condensor were rubbing and shorting out ocassionally (more likely to happen when it is wet out... ... ) and are there any codes thrown when it happens?
