I just bought an 8 disc CD changer for my 2001 QC 4X4 ETH DEE and to install it I have to remove the radio to gain access to the antenna cable at the back of the radio. Does anybody have the down and dirty on pulling the radio out? I have the stock AM/FM cassette. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Pat

The black one piece bezel which surrounds the instruments and radio will need to be removed. This is done by pulling the bezel out. Its held in with metal expanding clips. The radio is held in with screws which are easy to reach once the bezel is removed.

Actually pulling out the stereo is a pretty simple job. Your dash cover is one piece and it just pulls right off. Once you pull off that cover, then the stereo is right there. There are 4 bolts now that are exposed that hold the stereo in place. I know it sounds funny to just pull of your dash cover, but trust me it just snaps in place. If you want pictures, let me know, I will snap some with my digital camera and send them to you.

Pat, The Dodge has the best dash design I've seen for access. Real easy as the others pointed out. I'd also make sure you wrap and route your wires so that there is no possibility of them rattling inside the dash once reassembled. I like to use little pieces of clean old rags wrapped around the wires and taped on each end with electrical tape. The time spent doing "lead dress" up front can save you from having to live with a annoying dash rattle on a long trip. Any wire that can touch anywhere has the potential to rattle will rattle.
